Overview
The HTL1510B is a 1000 series soundbar from Philips. The bar is 960 mm wide, 67.8 mm high and 85.5 mm deep, comes in black, and can stand on a TV table or be mounted on the wall with its integrated brackets.
It is a 2.1 system with a compact wireless subwoofer in the box. Philips lists 52 mm full-range drivers in the bar (15 W x 2), a 4.5-inch driver in the subwoofer (40 W), and a total output of 70 W. Philips also lists treble, mid and bass control.
The TV connects over optical. The bar also has a 3.5 mm audio input and Bluetooth for streaming from a phone. It has no HDMI connection and no Wi-Fi. The bar is controlled with its touch buttons or the remote control in the box.
What the specs mean
- 2.1 speaker setup: left and right channels plus a subwoofer channel; the ".1" is the wireless subwoofer in the box. There are no surround or height channels.
- Optical input, no HDMI: the TV sends its sound over an optical cable. The bar has no HDMI port, so there is no HDMI ARC or HDMI-CEC control from the TV.
- No HDMI passthrough: consoles and streaming boxes connect to the TV, and the TV sends their sound to the bar over optical.

| Overall value A rough features-for-the-price score, compared with every soundbar listed. Bars gain points for things like Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi and room tuning, and lose points without them. Dolby Atmos with up-firing speakers earns more than virtual Atmos. Cheaper bars lose fewer points, or none, for missing premium extras (Dolby Atmos, HDMI eARC, up-firing speakers). 100 is the best deal listed. Based on specs only, not on how it sounds. | No reliable price | 72 | 65 |
| Price-band value Like Overall value, but each soundbar is compared only with soundbars in its own price band: up to $300, $300–500, $500–800, $800–1,200 or over $1,200. 100 is the best deal in that band.
