BRAVIA Theater System 6

Overview

BRAVIA Theater System 6 (model HT-S60) is a 5.1 channel home theatre set that Sony introduced in the US in 2025. It is sold as one product: the soundbar, a wired subwoofer (SA-WS60), two rear speakers (SS-SS60) and a wireless amplifier that the rear speakers plug into. Sony lists ten speaker units for the set. The bar is 907 mm wide, 64 mm high and 90 mm deep and can be wall-mounted.

The TV connects over HDMI eARC, and there is also an optical input, an analogue stereo mini input, Bluetooth and a USB port that Sony lists for updates only. With compatible BRAVIA TVs, Sony lists BRAVIA Sync and Voice Zoom 3.

The box contains the bar, the subwoofer, the rear speakers, a remote with batteries, an HDMI cable, power cords, two feet with screws, a wall-mount template and booklets. Sony's Help Guide says to use the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app for initial setup and settings.

What the specs mean

• 5.1 speaker setup: five main channels (front left, centre, front right and two rears) plus a subwoofer channel. The rear channels come from separate speakers behind the listener.
• HDMI eARC: the enhanced Audio Return Channel sends the TV's sound to the system over one HDMI cable, including high-bitrate formats such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos and uncompressed multichannel audio. There is no HDMI input, so no video passthrough.
• Audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-ES, DTS 96/24, DTS, LPCM, multichannel PCM and MPEG-2 AAC.
• Voice and night modes: Sony lists Voice Mode for clearer dialogue and Night Mode for late listening.
