Overview

HW-QS90H is Samsung's first all-in-one soundbar, from its 2026 Q-series. It plays 7.1.2 channels without a separate subwoofer: Samsung says four woofers are built into the bar. A gyro sensor recognises whether the bar stands on a TV stand or hangs on the wall and adjusts the sound. The bar is about 1245 mm wide, 69 mm high and 125 mm deep (Samsung lists 49.02 x 2.71 x 4.92 inches), and the wall-mount bracket is included. Samsung lists the colour as Graphite Black and 13 speakers. Samsung's SWA-9500S wireless rear speakers can be added.

The TV connects over HDMI eARC. One HDMI input passes 4K video at up to 60 Hz with HDR10+ through to the TV, and there is also an optical input, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Over Wi-Fi, the bar supports AirPlay, Chromecast, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and it has Amazon Alexa built in. With some Samsung TVs it also offers Q-Symphony (TV speakers and soundbar play together), wireless Dolby Atmos over Wi-Fi and SpaceFit Sound Pro through the TV. Samsung also lists Sound Elevation and Auto Volume.

You can control it with the buttons on the bar, the included remote, the TV remote, or the SmartThings and Samsung Sound apps on iOS and Android.

What the specs mean

• 7.1.2 speaker setup: seven main channels, one subwoofer channel and two height channels from up-firing speakers, which is how the bar plays Dolby Atmos with sound from above. Here the subwoofer channel plays from the built-in woofers.
• HDMI eARC: the enhanced Audio Return Channel sends the TV's sound to the soundbar over one HDMI cable, including high-bitrate formats such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos and uncompressed multichannel audio.
• HDMI passthrough: a console or streaming box can plug into the HDMI input; the bar passes 4K video at up to 60 Hz with HDR10+ on to the TV.
• Audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and multichannel PCM on the spec list, plus DTS:X input in the manual's output table. The page also lists Eclipsa Audio.
• Room correction (SpaceFit Sound Pro): the manual says the bar analyses the listening environment with its microphone and optimises the sound automatically. It is switched on from the soundbar's own remote, or from the menu of some Samsung TVs.
• Voice and night modes: Samsung lists Voice Enhance Mode and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro for dialogue, and a Night Mode for late listening.
