Overview

HW-B400F is a 2025 B-series soundbar. It is a single 2.0 bar with no separate subwoofer: Samsung's spec list says no subwoofer is included. The manual lists the bar at 641 mm wide, 66.5 mm high and 107 mm deep. It describes wall mounting as optional; no wall-mount kit is in the box, but an optical cable is. Samsung lists the colour as Titan Black and 4 speakers.

There is no HDMI input: the TV connects over HDMI ARC, with the optical cable or over Bluetooth, and phones that support NFC can start a Bluetooth connection by touching the bar. A USB port plays music files. There is no Wi-Fi.

You can control it with the buttons on the bar, the included remote or the TV remote.

What the specs mean

  • 2.0 speaker setup: two main channels (left and right) and no subwoofer channel.
  • HDMI ARC: the Audio Return Channel sends the TV's sound to the soundbar over the same HDMI cable that connects them.
  • Audio formats: the manual lists LPCM 2ch, Dolby Audio (Dolby Digital) and DTS.
  • Voice and night modes: Samsung lists Voice Enhance Mode for dialogue and a Night Mode for late listening.

Overall value
A rough features-for-the-price score, compared with every soundbar listed. Bars gain points for things like Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi and room tuning, and lose points without them. Dolby Atmos with up-firing speakers earns more than virtual Atmos. Cheaper bars lose fewer points, or none, for missing premium extras (Dolby Atmos, HDMI eARC, up-firing speakers). 100 is the best deal listed. Based on specs only, not on how it sounds.

Price-band value
Like Overall value, but each soundbar is compared only with soundbars in its own price band: up to $300, $300–500, $500–800, $800–1,200 or over $1,200. 100 is the best deal in that band. Based on specs only, not on how it sounds.
