Q7CB

Overview

HW-Q7CB is a black 2022 Samsung Q-series soundbar with a wireless subwoofer in the box. Samsung's product page lists the same spec sheet as the HW-Q700B and uses the HW-Q700B photos. The soundbar is 1110.7 mm wide, 60.4 mm high and 120 mm deep and can be wall-mounted; the wall-mount brackets are included.

Samsung lists 9 speakers and 320 W of total power for the bar and subwoofer, including up-firing speakers.

The TV connects over HDMI eARC. There is also one HDMI input with passthrough, an optical input, a USB port for music playback, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Over Wi-Fi, the bar supports AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect, and it works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Samsung also lists wireless Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony, which plays sound through the TV speakers and the soundbar together on select 2021 and 2022 Samsung TVs connected over HDMI.

You can control it with the buttons on the bar, the included remote, the TV remote, or the SmartThings app on iOS and Android.

What the specs mean

• 3.1.2 speaker setup: three main channels (left, centre, right), one subwoofer channel and two height channels. The height channels come from up-firing speakers that bounce sound off the ceiling, which is how the bar plays Dolby Atmos and DTS:X with sound from above.
• Wireless rear speakers (optional): Samsung lists the SWA-9500S rear speaker kit as compatible. It connects wirelessly to the bar.
• HDMI eARC: the enhanced Audio Return Channel sends the TV's sound to the soundbar over one HDMI cable, including high-bitrate formats such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos and uncompressed multichannel audio.
• HDMI passthrough: a console or streaming box can plug into the HDMI input, and the bar passes the video on to the TV.
• Audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby MAT, DTS:X, DTS Digital Surround, DTS-HD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and multichannel PCM.
